Shepard Fairey is an American street artist, muralist and graphic designer whose work stands at the intersection of art and activism. Fairey’s artistic practice revolves around the belief in the power of art to inspire social change and challenge the status quo. Throughout his career, Fairey has remained dedicated to using his art to initiate conversations and raise awareness on a range of issues.

STRAAT Museum proudly presents Shepard Fairey: Raise the Level. In this 5 min documentary Fairey reflects on what motivates him and how he’s using his art to inspire change. Shepard was in Amsterdam in August 2023 for his Printed Matters: Raise the Level exhibition in our STRAAT Gallery.
