During the spring break (February 17–23), we’re hosting this super fun workshop for kids. Discover how to create your own artwork using cutouts and colors! This technique combines different materials to create something entirely new. The workshop starts at 14:00 and lasts an hour.

During the Graffitecture: Typographic Blueprints exhibition, we offer a free walk-in workshop. The workshop takes place on seven Sundays, on the first and third Sunday of each month during the exhibition.
In this wonderful workshop, you’ll wear specially designed chaos glasses created by artist Chinny Bond. These aren’t ordinary glasses—they’ve been tricked out with brushes and pens that move as you move your head. No hands allowed! You’ll create unpredictable, energetic marks on paper just by tilting, turning, and shaking your head over the surface.
This playful exploration of mark-making teaches us something fundamental: tools are more than just extensions of our hands—they’re creative partners that shape how we see and express the world. Just like several of the artists in Graffitecture: Typographic Blueprints, who push the boundaries of letterforms with inventive approaches, you’ll discover how embracing unconventional tools unlocks fresh possibilities in artistic expression. So, put on your chaos glasses, loosen up, and let your instincts take the lead. Art-making has never been so joyfully out of control!

During this graffiti workshop, you will experience what it's like to work with a spray can yourself. We’ll start with a brief explanation of the use of spray cans and the various techniques. What does it take to create your own piece? And how do you paint the perfect outline? Then, it’s time to get busy yourself on the large shipping containers next to the museum. Our experienced workshop instructor will provide tips and tricks to work towards a beautiful end result. Don't forget to take a photo of your own masterpiece at the end!
The workshops take place every Saturday at 11:30 and 13:30 between May and October, except on days when major events are held at the NDSM wharf. The calendar in our booking system has all the available dates.

A children's party at STRAAT is the perfect way to introduce kids to spray can art. The program starts with an inspirational walk through the museum under guidance of the workshop teacher, to learn more about the artform and check out inspirational works. After a short technical introduction, it’s time for the kids to get busy. At the end of the workshop, the kids get to take home their canvas. Â
The workshop is suitable for children aged 8 and older and takes place outdoors. During the winter months, it's also possible to spray under cover, protected from the wind.
The program includes an inspirational walk through the museum and a creative graffiti workshop.
