Printed Matters: Raise the Level

Shepard Fairey is showcasing more than 130 artworks in our STRAAT Gallery. On top of that, there are two new murals on display: one on our museum's West exterior wall and a large-scale piece for the interior main hall collection. The Shepard Fairey x STRAAT Gallery exhibition Printed Matters: Raise the Level is on view until October 15th, 2023.

Shepard Fairey is an American street artist, muralist and graphic designer whose work stands at the intersection of art and activism. Fairey’s artistic practice revolves around the belief in the power of art to inspire social change and challenge the status quo. Throughout his career, Fairey has remained dedicated to using his art to initiate conversations and raise awareness on a range of issues.

Printed Matters: Raise the Level

The Printed Matters show encompasses various essential topics, urging us to heighten awareness regarding the repercussions of fossil fuels and climate change. In addition to environmental concerns, this exhibition also confronts pressing issues affecting humanity, including nationalism, xenophobia, war, disinformation, and the erosion of democracy.
