Inspired by the rich tradition of Dutch still life painting, Jarus has taken this centuries-old art form and breathed new life into it through his innovative and contemporary approach. Meeting in Breda was a journal entry for his life at the time, but also a way to explore and master his medium.
Unlike traditional still life paintings that often employ fine brushes and delicate strokes, Jarus has opted for an unconventional method, utilizing large house painting tools and brushes to create this work. He brings to life a composition of items he found at a supermarket nearby here, accentuating their beauty and transient nature.
