Stathis Tsavalias, better known as Insane 51, started as a graffiti writer in 2007. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, and combined this with a study in graphic art and applied arts.
Insane 51 is mostly known for his 3D, an art form known as “Double Exposure 3D”. His specialization combines photorealism and overlaying images. By overlapping two images - one in red and one in cyan - he creates a three-dimensional illusionary effect. To get a clear view of the two layers, people use 3D glasses, digital color filters or his characteristic glasses installations.
