Rooted in the traditional graffiti scene, Erwtje started drawing his cartoons in a more sophisticated way in 2018, focusing on the subculture of graffiti with romanticized scenes. Alley cat was painted from an older sketch. The title is based on the way the trains are parked at night, side by side, forming an alley through which stealthy graffiti writers move around like cats in the night.
