Daze

Daze began painting subway cars in 1976 in New York City. When he transitioned to canvases a few years later, he stayed close to his roots, drawing inspiration from the urban environment. In this canvas, the iconic image of Times Square we are so familiar with, is contrasted with black-and-white images of riots, underlining the multifaceted nature of the city.
