( 2017 )currently not on view
From a young age, Bruno Smoky painted all the walls of his local area (Brasilândia) building his skills and style from very early days. Color was always of central importance to Bruno, balancing dark somber colors with bright tones to soften his message. After moving to Canada, Bruno discovered a calm and peaceful environment which directly altered both the way he painted and the themes he included. With this bright-colored work in his characteristic sci-fi style, Bruno shares his take on different stages of life on earth.
“Humans created this house, then they died and someone else came. When the water took over the area, fish no longer lived in the water, but started to float around.” / Bruno Smoky
