Apitatán

Apitatán is known for incorporating indigenous motifs and popular traditions of Ecuador in his art. In Ayahuasca, the shaman drinking the spiritual beverage with the same name, describes a personal experience of the artist. When he first tried ayahuasca, Apitatán visualized his essence as a cat with huge teeth. Simultaneously, he felt connected with spirits from the jungle and wondered what our world was like before there were borders separating us.
