In Still life with poffertjes Dagoe painted typical Dutch items. From the iconic ‘stroopwafel’ cookies to the (in)famous liquorice candies, here are treats that appear in most kitchen cabinets around the Netherlands. Reflecting Dagoe’s passion for soccer, he added the Ajax club number 14 shirt, which used to be worn by Johan Cruijff - regarded as one of the greatest football players in history.
