Li-Hill
(Canada, 1986)Severed visions
( 2018 )now on view
As part of Li-Hill’s post-apocalyptic narrative, Severed visions displays a figure moving through rips, offering a glimpse into a dark future. On another layer, we see a ‘lobo-guará’ in motion. This endangered wolf from Brazil appealed to Li-Hill because of its impressive resilient nature. However, due to the continuous interference of humans in the environment, nothing can adapt at the same rate, not even this wolf. This sentiment is visualized by the atomizing animal.
