Old rocking chair

Tankpetrol is a Polish stencil artist based in Manchester. Aside from stencils, he uses different techniques such as typography, traditional painting, freehand work and fine woodwork, in order to embrace the diversity of female characters. His moody and dark portraits evoke the emotional complexity of women showing fear, anger, nostalgia or self confidence. Old Rocking Chair depicts a fearful girl sitting in a chair, with the dark background emphasizing her state of being.  In the end, viewers are free to come up with their personal interpretation of Tankpetrol’s art.
