Graffitecture highlights the creative possibilities of typographic art in both physical and conceptual dimensions. From SODA’s optical illusions and Gary Stranger’s architectural letterforms to Antigoon’s experimental, machine-assisted creations and Georgia Hill’s poetic monochromatic designs, the exhibition reveals a dynamic interplay between chaos and control, spontaneity and precision.
Artists
SODA manipulates flat surfaces with limited palettes to create stunning illusions of three-dimensional depth. Gary Stranger, member of the legendary MSK crew, merges the language of graffiti with the meticulous craft of design, resulting in architectural typographic forms. Antigoon pushes the boundaries of material and process with artist-designed tools like ink-dispensing machines and gunpowder blowers, crafting geometric hints of letterforms with futuristic precision. Georgia Hill adds a personal and poetic layer to the exhibition, blending reflective phrases with type-based designs that span galleries, urban walls, and abandoned buildings across the globe.
